Built in Detroit
Euchre isn't just a card game in the Midwest. It's a tradition. Basement tables after Thanksgiving dinner. Cottage weekends up north. Bar leagues on a Wednesday. If you grew up anywhere between Pittsburgh and Chicago, someone dealt you in before you were ten.
Detroit sits at the heart of it. Michigan is one of the most euchre-obsessed states in the country. The game has been part of the culture here since the 1800s. From Hamtramck halls to Traverse City cabins, the rules might change by the table, but the game stays the same.
We built detroit.games to be a card site that respects your time and your attention. Ads are placed where they don't get in the way of a hand. If your phone dies, your network drops, or life pulls you away from the table and a bot replaces you, we provide an easy way to rejoin the game that's in progress with your friends. House rules include Stick the Dealer, Farmer's Hand, and Cutthroat. We started with the rules we grew up with and are adding on from there.
Let us know your favorite house rules or suggest a new feature. @detroit.games on Bluesky.
Played Everywhere
Yes, ads pay the bills, but, we've thought hard about when you'll see them and where they are. There's no gambling, no purchases, no downloads. While there are some in game messages you can send, they are all pre-defined, so there's no harassment or inappropriate behavior. Pick your house rules, sit down, and play. Bots fill empty seats so you're never waiting. Invite your crew or jump into a solo game at 2 AM. The way euchre was meant to be played. Just faster.
How We Play
Classic Rules
Four players, two teams, five tricks. Trump, bowers, and going alone. The euchre you already know.
Cutthroat Mode
Three players, no partners. The caller goes solo against the other two. Every point is yours to win or lose.
Stick the Dealer
No more endless redeals. If everyone passes, the dealer picks trump. On by default. Turn it off if you want.
Ace No Face
9s and 10s with one ace? Automatic redeal.
Farmer's Hand
All 9s and 10s, no face cards, no aces. Completely unplayable, so we redeal it for you.
Turn Timer
90-second clock keeps the game moving. Idle players get nudged, then booted. Bots fill in so no one waits.
